CSM Peter J. Ladd

720th Military Police Battalion, 89th MP Brigade
20 August 2008 to 23 March 2011 ~ Fort Hood, Texas

        CSM Ladd received responsibilities from CSM J. Drew Craig on 20 August 2008, and transferred responsibilities to CSM John Matthews on 23 March 2011, before assuming his new duties as CSM of the 89th MP Brigade.

        Sergeant Major Peter J. Ladd hails from Nashua, New Hampshire.

        He entered the United States Army in August of 1989 and attended One Station Unit Training (OSUT) at Fort McClellan, Alabama, graduating as a Military Policeman. Throughout his military career, CSM Ladd has served in a variety of duty positions including Gunner, Driver, Military Police Investigator, Team Leader, Squad Leader, Battlefield Circulation Control NCO, Platoon Sergeant, Drill Sergeant, Senior Drill Sergeant, Instructor United States Army Drill Sergeant School, and Operations Sergeant. First Sergeant, Battalion Operations Sergeant Major, and Division Provost Sergeant Major.

        CSM Ladd’s stateside assignments include Fort Ord, California; Fort Devens, Massachusetts; Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Fort Jackson, South Carolina; and Fort Hood, Texas.  His overseas assignments and deployments include Camp Humphries, Korea; Schofield Barracks, Hawaii; the Republic of Panama; Cuba; Afghanistan; Uzbekistan; and Iraq.  CSM Ladd is a combat veteran of both Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. 

        CSM Ladd’s civilian and military education includes the Primary Leadership Development Course; Basic Noncommissioned Officers Course (Leadership Award Recipient); Advanced Noncommissioned Officers Course (Commandant’s Award); First Sergeants Course (Honor Graduate); United States Army Sergeants Majors Academy Class #56 (Commandants Award); Military Police Investigators School; Combat Life Savers Course; Master Fitness Trainers Course; Drill Sergeant School (Commandant’s Award); Air Movement Operations Course; Airborne School; Air Assault School; and Jumpmaster School.  

        CSM Ladd has earned an Associates Degree in General Studies with the University of Phoenix and an Associates Degree in Business Administration and Personnel Management with Excelsior College.     

        CSM Ladd’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal (1 oak leaf cluster), the Meritorious Service Medal (2 oak leaf cluster). the Army Commendation Medal (4 oak leaf clusters), the Army Achievement Medal (5 oak leaf clusters), the Army Good Conduct Medal (6th award), the National Defense Service Medal (Bronze Star), the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, the Iraq Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Korea Defense Service Medal, the Humanitarian Service Medal (Bronze Star), the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, the Noncommissioned Officers Professional Development Ribbon (numeric 4), the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon (Numeric 4), the Joint Meritorious Unit Award, the Air Assault Badge, the Parachutists Badge, the Senior Parachutists Badge, the German Parachutist Badge, the Drill Sergeant Badge, and the Combat Action Badge.  CSM Ladd is also a recipient of the Military Police Corps’ Order of the Marechaussee (Bronze).     

        CSM Ladd has been married to the former Bonnie M. Boutin of Bennington, Vermont for 17 years and together, they have two sons, Christian (16) and Shane (14).
