MAJ Houser

     On 3 October 1944 MAJ Houser, the Battalion Executive Officer, received temporary command of the Battalion at Finchhaven, New Guinea, when MAJ Arthur J. Wajnowski was reassigned to Brisbaine, Australia.

   The Battalion assets were stationed in Finchhaven engaged in base patrol, ship and dockside security, and guarding military installation's, a stockade and Japanese POW's.

   On 6 October MAJ Houser relinquished command to newly arrived MAJ R.R. Packard.
