MAJ R. R. Packard

Commanding Officer (Acting) of the 720th Military Police Battalion
6 October 1944 to 26 November 1944

   MAJ Packard received command of the Battalion from the executive officer, MAJ Houser who served as acting commander from 3 to 6 October 1944.

   The Battalion assets were stationed in Finchhaven, New Guinea, and engaged in base patrol, ship and dockside security, and guarding military installation's, a stockade and Japanese POW's.

   On 26 November 1944 he passed command to MAJ Philip J. Reilly.
