It was reestablished in 1962 as a base for the U.S. Army 52nd Combat Aviation Battalion "Flying Dragons," and was located on a plateau on Highway 19 just outside of Pleiku, Pleiku Province, II Corps Tactical Zone, in the western Central Highlands.
