| At the start of 1980 the 720th MP Battalion was headquartered subordinate to the III Corps at Fort Hood, Texas.
4 January, Change of Command LTC H.L. Holloway passed command of the Battalion to LTC Artis B. Mosley, Jr.
Exact date unknown Federal troops, including elements of the 720th MP Battalion, (yet to be identified) are detailed to Fort Indiantown Gap, Pennsylvania, Fort Chaffee, Arkansas, Fort McCoy, Wisconsin and Eglin Air Force Base, Florida for the Cuban Refugee Resettlement Operation through February 1982. Battalion elements were deployed at Fort's Chaffee and McCoy.
