12 March LT Ball and a detachment of twenty-six enlisted men were assigned to Wonju to set up a check point and work a defile between Wonju and Chechon.

13 March CPL Thurman was sent home on an emergency leave for thirty days.

14 March Promotions of from Private First Class [PFC], to Corporal [CPL], arrived for twenty-three enlisted men. The promotions helped to raise the Company morale. Additional promotions for the first three grades are hard to come by because the Company is a X Corps Headquarters unit and there are no additional slots available. The Provost Marshal assured the Company that it should be activated as a Number Company very shortly and have its own TO&E.

15 March SGT Koplik departed with a detachment of nine enlisted men for the Chechon area to put up tents for the pending Company move.

18 March The Company started its move from Chungju to a camp site established about three miles from Chechon. The new location, located on a slope is the best around due to the oncoming rainy season.

Some elements of the Company had to remain behind in Chungju until the 728th MP battalion relieved every TCP.

The seven man detachment from Hayong Ni was relieved and moved to Chupori, located about six miles from Chechon, at the Chungju, Chechon Wonju Junction.

19 March The Company took over the responsibilities of the 88th MP Company which included the Police Station, Information Booth, Stand By Patrol, seven stationary post’s, three Traffic Control Post’s, and one Town Patrol. The greatest drawback to the new location was the terrible amount of dust and the MP’s coming off duty red eyed and haggard looking.

20 March LT Phelps departed with a twenty MP detachment to operate a defile between Chupori and Wonju.

Since there were no maps of Chechon, CPL Wardinski was assigned to diagram one by hand. Naturally, once it was completed, everybody wanted a copy.

22 March The Company moved from their campsite into Chechon. They billeted in the buildings vacated by the 88th MP Company.

27 March An additional five enlisted men were sent to the detachment at Wonju commanded by LT Ball. The detachment was also providing security for the 8076 MASH.

30 March CPL Leon Parker departed the Company on a hardship discharge. His departure left the Company thirty-five men short of their strength.

By the end of the month the morale of the Company was generally good although they had some very dirty jobs. The food had improved considerably. The mess fed eight-hundred and seventy-four meals over Company allotment. The Company also handled three-hundred thirty stragglers who were passed along to their respective units.
