The Post Tet New Years Offensive

23 February During the Post Tet Offensive attack along the southern perimeter of Long Binh Post, it became the first time in the history of the United States Armed Forces that Artillery, Armor, and Infantry units supported a Military Police Battalion, fighting as infantry, against the 274th Viet Cong Main Force Regiment, 5th NVA Division. During this battle C Company distinguished themselves through the actions of its members that served in the Long Binh Post reaction force.

That evening it was C Company that relieved B Company, who had been in the field for 24 hours, to allow them to get some much needed rest and resupply before again taking the field the next morning.

14 August The Quan Loi Convoy, escorted by members of C Company, was returning to Long Binh Post on Highway QL-13, nicknamed Thunder Road. It was ambushed with rocket propelled grenade, mortar, and small arms fire from a force of approximately 200 enemy hidden along both sides of the roadway.
3 October 1LT Surry P. Everett is assigned as a Platoon Leader with C Company.
8 December 1LT Joseph Glassmacher, Jr. is assigned as Platoon Leader.
