< April Change of Command ceremony for B Company, 720th MP Battalion at Vinh Long, Vietnam in April 1971. CPT William E. Ekin passes command of the company to CPT John G. Meyer, Jr.

1 July 1LT David J. Ryan was assigned as the new 720th MP Battalion Provost Marshal at Vinh Long.

4 July The Battalion began a crackdown on black marketing activities throughout IV Corps Tactical Zone and was required to position one MP at the entrance and exit to the post exchange facilities at Vinh Long to insure that only authorized personnel used the exchange and that customers did not abuse their rations privileges.

 
16 October The Last Battalion Casualty In Vietnam   SP/4 Larry Floyd Miller, died from injuries received as the result of a severe electrical shock that caused him to fall two stories while adjusting an antenna on the roof of a billet in Vinh Long.
